"My birthday is almost here! I recently learned that millions of kids around the world don't live to see their fifth birthday because they don't have access to clean, safe drinking water. We can help change that.
This year I'm donating my birthday to try to raise $10k to build a fresh water well in Ethiopia. A woman doesn't usually tell her age. I would like to lie and tell everyone that I'm 29 and holding, but for this cause, it's worth it to tell you I'm turning 38. Instead of gifts, I'm asking everyone I know to donate one dollar for every year I have lived.
Every penny of the money raised will directly fund clean water projects in developing countries. Even better, charity: water will show us exactly which projects we funded once they've been fully completed (which takes about 18 months). That means we'll know the locations and names of the communities we helped.
Help me reach my goal. Please donate to my birthday campaign!"
