Justin’s BFF Lil Twist has been making plenty of headlines, and most of the time, it isn’t because of his music — but his legal trouble with Justin Bieber. With many sites and news outlets often dubbing Lil Twist a bad influence on Justin. Still, the rapper doesn’t let the bad press get to him.
Lil Twist told MTV News of the publications that he feels shine him in a bad light:
They’re doin’ their job, man. They’re doing what we do. Like how we go to the studio and we go and record to make music and we make money off of that to support our families; if they didn’t come up with bullshit stories and post it, they can’t get no money from it.
In May, Twist was stopped for speeding while driving the Justin’ Ferrari, and in July, he was arrested for a DUI while driving Justin’s high-end vehicle. In August, he was named in a battery report. He couldn’t speak to MTV News about any of the charges against him but did suggest that all the reports are accurate:
They just twist — they add some shit, they add a lot of shit to a lot of stuff that comes out. I don’t even pay attention to the media any more. I’ve been into a few accidents, I ran into a few mistakes, but I’m young. You were young before — you have to learn.
Lil Twist maintains that he and Justin are close friends despite all of the drama.
That’s really my brother. I met Justin when he was 14. I was 15 and we became friends as soon as we linked.
There is a lot of talk whether he has been a bad or good influence on Justin, I think he has or should I say, he´s had an influence on Justin. We can´t deny that but we can´t put all the blame in him. I mean, Justin can and made his own choices. Lil Twist just like Justin and everyone else makes mistakes and it´s only natural but either way, I´m still not a fan of his. I consider him bad news.
To set the record straight, the media´s job is to make and spread rumors, because that is what they live on, they need to live and that is someone´s job, it´s the same thing with the paparazzis. They might not care about the feelings of the people these rumors are about because their jobis to make you look bad, otherwise, they are not doing their job. That´s the plain truth of the matter.
