As reported by TMZ, more than $300,000 or £70,000 in cash was stolen after the concert in FNB stadium, in Johannesburg, South Africa on the 12th just after the concert was over.
Justin was not the only one who perform at the stadium that day. Bon Jovi also had his concert there and the $300,000 sum that was stolen by the thieves was from both shows. The police say that the sum was stolen from a safe.
The stadiums spokesman said:
The suspect has gaiend entry through the roof. The broke the tile fo the bathroom between last night (Sunday) after the concert and this morning (Monday).
In the interest of safety and security of our staff and in the light of an ongoing investigation, Big Concerts (S.A promoter) will not comment further on this incident.
They realised that the money was missing on Monday.
The money was taken from the building and they only realised today,” said a police officer from Booysens police station in Soweto.
We don’t know how many people were involved as we are still gathering evidence.
It´s thought that teh gang tunnelled through the wall, working for several days while hidden from view as the chiselled their wasy through. They are reportedto have gained access from a ladies toilet.
Well, talk about a rather unfortunate and sad situation. Both artists worked hard for their money and so did their promoters so I believe the money should go back to the rightful owners. Just a random thought, maybe the thieves already knew where the money was. I´m not saying that they knew what happened, but maybe it was an inside person who helped with that. Somebody must have known the money was in the safe and where the safe was. You can´t just go on the roof, into the ladies toilet and randomly rob $300, 000 without knowing where the safe is. This clearly looks planned.
Anyway, I hope the thieves are caught
