An Irish Girl Received $9,600 Settlement over Justin Bieber Concert Wrist Injury!!

A 16-year-old girl Nadia Burke injured her right hand outside a Justin Bieber concert at The O2 in Dublin, Ireland last year, has received a settlement of €7,000 (or $9,600).

Via IrishTimes:
The Circuit Civil Court heard Nadia Burke was with other teenagers outside the arena last February trying to “catch a glimpse” of Justin as cars were moving in and out of gates which were being operated by security staff.

Nadia, who was 15 at the time, had been pushed forward and a security man had closed the gate on her hand. She had thought her hand was bruised and would recover quickly.

The girl said her hand was still sore a few days later and her mother, Nicola Burke, had taken her to the emergency department of Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin.

Circuit Court President Mr Justice Raymond Groarke heard X-rays had first revealed a possible fracture and her wrist had been put in plaster.

She had been referred to a fracture clinic where further X-rays had come back clear. The plaster was removed and her wrist placed in a splint for several weeks. Her wrist had been painful for a couple of months.

Nadia, through her mother, had sued Amphitheatre Ireland Ltd, which trades as The O2, and also Aiken Promotions Ireland, of Holles Street, Dublin.

Judge Groarke approved a settlement offer of €7,000 (or $9,600).

It sucks that that happened!
