Stratford continues to stand by native son Justin Bieber, despite his recent high-profile run-ins with the law.
Mayor Dan Mathieson said a day after Justin turned himself into Toronto police in connection with the alleged assault of a limo driver.
No matter what happens, it doesn’t negate the fact that Justin is from Stratford.
As far as I’m concerned, he is a 19-year-old person who has made some errors. I don’t condone them, but I also understand that we all have made errors in our life. I hope for his sake that he can get a reset, and get back to music and doing what he loves.
Let’s hope that with some good guidance from those he trusts … things all come back to where they should be.
Asked what advice he would give to Justin, the mayor said:
stay true to the family and friends who have been there from the start. And lie low for a bit.
And don’t think Bieber doesn’t appreciate the kind words. He tweeted:
never forget where you come from or those who supported you before anyone else. still the small town kid. thanks http://www.lfpress.com/2014/01/30/stratford-stands-by-native-son-justin-bieber …
The principal of Stratford’s Northwestern Secondary School, Martin Ritsma said his former charge was just an average kid that she’s no prepared to judge, either.
As a young person, I made mistakes. I’m glad no one put me under a microscope. This is still where Justin grew up and if he walked through the front door today, he’d be a welcome young man.
The Toronto Mayor, Rob Ford is also on Justin´s side. At least we know that there are people in Canada who still have Justin´s back because that´s home.
