Justin Bieber tweeted a memorial to his young fan, Jake Schafer. Justin met then 8-year-old Jake in 2011 while granting a wish for the Children’s Wish Foundation, the organization allowed Jake to meet his hero Justin at the Toronto Maple Leaf hockey skating rink. Jake and Justin played a hockey game together out on the Canadian team’s ice, plus Justin gave his young fan a team jersey customized with his last name on it. It was such a wonderful experience for both guys — and it’s so sweet that Justin remembered their meeting years later.

Jake was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in June 2010, unfortunately, the cancer had spread to his bones. Jake passed away on Aug. 20, 2013, according to The Post, Hanover. Justin posted a touching tweet included the video that was filmed from his and Jake’s meeting after he learned on November 11th that the young boy had passed away, he expressed heartfelt emotion about the boy he was so grateful to have met.

Justin tweeted about the loss when he learned of the wonderful young boy’s passing:
Heard little Jake is up in heaven. The world lost a great kid but I'm grateful I got to meet him. RIP Jake

Once again, makes me feel so proud of Justin. A lot of BS mightbe going around and people claiming he is a "bad boy" but that is what they think, this is the Justin I know and fell in love with. An amazing idol.
May Jake´s soul rest in eternal peace, most of Beliebers never knew him but it´s always a huge loss to loose a family member, he was one of us, he was a Belieber and we are a family so he will mean something to us.
