Lorde: "Justin Bieber Isn’t Real Depiction of Young People’ + Dissing Taylor & Selena"!!

Lorde might have the biggest song in the world right now with Royals, but it seems people are more interested in the comments she’s made about other artists.

The 16 year-old Kiwi singer hasn’t been afraid to say what she really thinks about Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez – and she totally stands by her statements.

Lorde told MTV News:
I think there’s a funny culture in music that’s only happened over the last 15 years, that if you have an opinion about something in music that isn’t 100-percent good, you’re a ‘hater,’ even if you have perfectly reasonable grounds for that critique. People will say exactly what they think about a movie or a TV show, and that’s fine, but as soon as you say it about a record, you’re like some little zombie in a funny dungeon.

I have pretty strong morals and opinions being in pop music, and I can’t help but express those, which I think people appreciate. I mean, I don’t think I say anything that isn’t backed up. Most of the time I will stand by things that I’ve said.

So what exactly has Lorde said about the trio?
On Justin Bieber: I feel like the influences that are there in the industry for people my age, like Justin Bieber or whatever, are just maybe not a very real depiction of what it’s like to be a young person.

On Selena Gomez: I’m a feminist, and the theme of her song is, ‘When you’re ready come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.

On Taylor Swift: I wish my favorite stars didn’t look perfect because i think fans have these feelings of worthlessness, like they’ll never be as pretty/talented/whatever, as a result of this intense photoshop culture and the endless strive for perfection. Taylor Swift was the first person i thought of, which I regret. she happens to be good looking, but i think she actually uses her other imperfections in an incredibly powerful and relatable way.

Joe Jonas defends Taylor & Selena, he took to Twitter to kind of (sort of diss) Lorde, tweeting:
Hey you say call me Queen B but you shouldn't be attacking all the true Queen Bitches's

Do you think Lorde should apologize to Justin, Taylor & Selena? She is not big in the industry and yes ofcourse she should be able to state her thoughts, she has the freedom of speech but as I normally say, dissing other artists is not cool. She should just focus on doing her own thing.
