Justin Bieber Talks Life-Changing "Pencils of Promise" Trip After Visisting The Guatemala Charity!!

Justin Bieber ventured deep into the Guatemalan jungle to help a group of poor villagers construct a badly needed schoolhouse this weekend. After Justin performed in Guatemala City on Saturday, he joined up with Pencils of Promise -- an organization dedicated to building schools for communities in need.

Justin was choppered into a remote area outside the city on Sunday ... where a makeshift construction crew was already busy putting up walls for the new school. Inspired, Justin ditched his shirt and went to work, grabbing a wheelbarrow and helping to build a wall for the school.

He also took off his shoes and gave them to one of the local children.

In a rather emotional video that Justin posted later on, he opened up about an eye-opening experience he recently had in a Guatemala Charity event, in a new video confession.

On the caption of the vide, it says:
I just had one of the most amazing powerful experiences of my life in Guatemala. I went with Pencils of Promise to work with the people to build a school for their community. This was one of the schools the Believe Tour helped build and to see the people...who had nothing but were so happy. It was amazing. I feel like they helped me as much as I helped them. You can make a huge difference in this world if you just give to others. It is a feeling like no other. just had to share this video confession because i cant stop thinking about it. Love all of you. Go out there and help change the world. Thanks.

He took to twitter later on to say:
Guatemala Video Confession: Giving is the best.

Giving feels way better then receiving. Give to others. Give of yourself. In return you will feel more happiness then u have ever known

Today was 1 of the most powerful and humbling days of my life. Thank u Guatemala & . Today I saw real happiness. So powerful
This is one of the things I love about Justin. He is a giver and always encourages other to give to the community. It´s the little things that he does that most of the times go unnoticed that make those events special, because they are not publicity stunts, his management didn´t tell him to do it, he did it genuinely from his heart and he wants his Beliebers and fans to spread the positive energy, love and the spirit of giving. Such events that he participates in because they mean so much to him, they come from his heart.

It´s really great to see him do this because most people would rather just give the money that even try to go out to the venue and go hands in. I´m super super proud of my fellow Beliebers for helping Justin do what he´s doing.

So give back guys whenever you posibly can, it doesn´t have to be a charity or something fancy. It can be someone in your community, a friend, neighbour or someone that needs help ro just spread the love and postive energy out there.

More info about Pencils Of Promise:

Pencils of Promise is a non-profit educational organization founded in 2008 by Bieber’s manager’s (Scooter) brother, Adam Braun. It builds schools and increases educational opportunities in three countries — Laos, Nicaragua, and Guatemala — with a focus “giving every child” an education.

The organization has drawn praise for its work, notably raising $33,000 in Ghanian schools, but it was recently criticized by a showbiz website claiming its travel and salaries expenses exceeded its grant giving according to a 2011 tax filing. The report did say the company was fulfilling its mandate.

Back in July, it was announced that for each ticket sold in 30 additional shows added to the North America leg of Bieber’s Believe tour, $1 from each ticket would be donated to Pencils of Promise. Pencils of Promise also hosts an annual Justin Bieber-supported Schools 4 All fund-raising campaign.

This year it teamed up with the nonprofit Pvblic Foundation, which specializes in donating millions of dollars’ worth of unused advertising spots to charities. Billboard reports that as a result of their partnership, PoP raised $400,000 to build new schools in struggling countries.

Bieber’s work with PoP runs alongside sizable outreach efforts with Child Hunger Ends Here, the Make-A-Wish Foundation (where the singer holds the highest musician wish granter record), ongoing donations to the Whitney Elementary School and occasional fundraising with the parents of the late Avalanna Routh for child brain cancer (AT/RT) research.
